The price difference between is mostly taxes. Tax on Gas(Petrol) in the US is considerably lower than it is in Europe.

Its USD1.42/litre here in Fiji, where the GDP - per capita is approx. USD2,000.

In Holland atm it is about $8.30/gallon or Eur. 1.673/liter. Diesel is cheaper at $6.99/gallon or Eur. 1.409/liter

Currently: Standard unleaded $AU1.31 a litre,it varies day-by- day,up to $1.49 a litre.There is a fake discount war here. (over $1.50 well outside of cities)



I'm using our old imperial measurements: 1 litre=2. 2 pints, 8 pints=1 gallon.
