Yeah, the color "poor", otherwise he may have had a fucking lawyer.

I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

We are a backward little backwater of a country here in the states. We love incarceration. Can't get enough. When you lock up as many as we do there are bound to be a few mistakes.

We also tend to think we are god's chosen and the best at everything. To be elected in this country you have to wrap yourself in the flag, clutch a bible to your breast and then look for high rolling contributors to become your constituents. We may have the best government money can buy.

That's the problem living in a fascist-enabling state. The cops can "do no wrong" in their defense against the legions of chaos, liberalism, drugs, etc,.

This is New Mexico -- why isn't anyone suprised that "Fascists R US" would set up shop there... Just take a look at the people who live there. They're not known for deep thought or even concept of due process.

Police are redundant revenue generators. Police do wrong daily, police are part of the problem. Giving people 250 dollar speeding tickets won't stop people from speeding. Throwing money (like 22million) never fixes a problem either, cause in the end money is just paper. The man should have never spent 1 day in jail without being convicted of anything. Fix the problem of how this happened, not just give 22 million to every person who is wrongly detained. You can't throw money at someone and say here is your freedom back. The system should not allow this to happen ever. No excuse.

This is a huge deal, it could happen to anyone, the whole police force their should be disbanded along with the correctional personal. They operate like barbarians. If any one person saw this man and did nothing they are guilty of torture, cruel and unusual punishment, and should be throw into the hole as well.

Fellow Brits, can you imagine that happening here? I can't.

That's because when your jails got too full, you sent the fuckers here to work on plantations and in rudimentary factories as prisoners, slaves and indentured servants. We haven't figured this shit out yet.

We also don't chuck people in prison for marijuana possession, unless it's enough to stun a dead donkey.

Quote:According to data compiled by the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and released in September, nearly 787,000 Americans were arrested for violating marijuana laws in 2005, the highest annual total ever recorded. Among those arrested, approximately 88 percent -- some 696,074 -- Americans were charged with marijuana possession only

Costs you guys $1billion a year just to keep marijuana offenders in the slammer. For the less numerate, thats approximately $3.30c per man, woman, child, cheap Mexican labourer in Mitt's rear left side east face wing garden.

Dreadfully sick. Imprisonment can so easily become torture should there be a lack of care.
After all, you are locking a being into a small dark concrete room and that being requires food, water, a good level of hygiene and we being social animals require communication and to be social with others. Without interaction, you will become mad over time.

Being locked up means being completely reliant on those on the outside for survival. Like a rodent in a cage, neglect it and it will die.
Not being given all he needed and not having the freedom to help himself, I guess could be considered a form of torture. Starvation after all is rather painful. Not to mention a complete lack of medical care.
Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence - Carl Sagan

Mankind's intelligence walks hand in hand with it's stupidity.

Being an atheist says nothing about your overall intelligence, it just means you don't believe in god. Atheists can be as bright as any scientist and as stupid as any creationist.

You never really know just how stupid someone is, until you've argued with them.
