This church has committed a sin that Christ himself spoke about. Christ said if anyone keeps one of these little ones from me it is better he put a millstone around his neck and jump into the river. What Christ was saying, if a person keeps a child from him it would be better for that person to end his life than to keep on living with this particular sin, because the punishment will grow worse every day he is alive. Now there is an entire church that has ignored what Christ stated and they did this to defend one who has already committed the same sin. If I had been a member of that church I would have fled as fast as I could. There is no repentance in the heart of such a man nor the congregation he leads as long as they continue to operate this church in this manner. Some times the people who want to believe they are christians and do such a thing as this really makes me very angry.

I mean, surely, there isn't any sin that the blood won't wash away...or maybe he should commit suicide....just like jesus suggested. This is not only morally questionable, but stupid on the church members' part. You know probably the easiest way to make a kid lose his or her faith is to keep them out of church? There are tons of "mainline" churches with nothing but grey heads in them nowadays...I'm sure they would be dropping their jaws in disbelief at this (if they could get past these people allowing a convicted sex offender to keep preaching).

I applaud and support the Church's decision wholeheartedly. I wish more churches were like this - protecting children from the corrupting influence of Christianity.
