Is it to not hurt people's feelings when they are incompetent?

Mods have already commented, as a user I really don't want to see rep wars break out. I can say what I need to say perfectly well in a post. Cool Shades

RE: Negative Reputation
We had the feature on before, but all that it did was to give more room for the crazies to whine about "Having negative rep".

RE: Negative Reputation
The trouble with the negative rep system is you get packs of people ganging up on individuals and hounding them out. Sometimes that can happen to decent folk as well as idiots.
You are currently experiencing a lucky and very brief window of awareness, sandwiched in between two periods of timeless and utter nothingness. So why not make the most of it, and stop wasting your life away trying to convince other people that there is something else? The reality is obvious.

RE: Negative Reputation
As already said, negative reps were disable to prevent members from insulting each other and getting into rep wars.

Unfortunately, however, I've seen many ratings in profiles which were given as a 'neutral' but the comments are not actually neutral, but negative (see Godschild, kilic, and chipan, for example). So, if members are doing that, then I think that the neutral reputation should be disabled also for the same reason as it was done for the negative. But that's just my opinion.

RE: Negative Reputation
I just disabled neutral reps as well. I thought I'd done that ages ago; my bad.

RE: Negative Reputation
So why do they still show up when you're on the rep page? I know it says that they are disabled but still, is there not a way to remove them completely?
I'm just curious.
