His wife issued a statement claiming that he was suffering from dehydration and "exhaustion." Sorry, but I don't believe that running around in the street buck naked and yelling at cars is a symptom of either dehydration or exhaustion. I'm betting he's suffering from the same kind of "exhaustion" that celebrities have before they check into rehab.

You'd be surprised how your brain reacts with exhaustion / dehydration / malnutrition. It's not a symptom of any one in particular, but combine them all together and you can get some pretty messed up results. He's actually quite lucky; he could have done something dangerous and gotten himself killed.

Apparently only one person said he was naked / masturbating, and none of the news reports I've read have confirmed that yet. He was apparently in his underwear though, suffering from dehydration, malnutrition, etc.

So yeah, too good to be true, quite literally.

Plus his own damn website confirmed the 'incident' and while they didn't go into detail (as you would expect) they don't deny a damn thing. Also, he's currently in a mental ward, not a hospital, as would be the case if he was suffering from dehydration and malnutrition.

Fair enough, I hadn't seen the photos, and I'd only read a few of the reports, all of which hadn't confirmed whether he was actually naked or not. Anyway, the masturbation thing is as far as I am aware, still unconfirmed (the video only shows him hitting the pavement).

He's probably in the mental ward for observation. This guy clearly isn't insane; he has only very recently been appearing on TV during interviews, and looked fine. I think the more likely explanation is he ate the wrong food, didn't sleep, and got his body to a point where he just snapped.

I definitely think he is in there for observation. Many mental facilities are also hospitals and vice versa. He can be treated for dehydration whilst in a mental facility. Furthermore, they have to put him in a psych ward if his behavior is erratic. Regular hospital areas are not equipped for subduing patients.
