RE: Art Deco
AoD and Phibes are perfect examples of that wonderful line from AoD:

DR. PHIBES!!!!

If you've not seen this scream of a Vincent Price movie, you're missing out. It's as bad as Army of Darkness, much more quietly funny and just as ridiculous.

Wasn't Vincent THE MAN.

Always so urbanely evilDevil

If you're not supposed to ride faster than your guardian angel can fly then mine had better get a bloody SR-71.

Army of Darkness is in no way bad.

Absolutely everything about it is hilarious. Deliberately hilarious.

There was something very creepy about the way his mouth moved when he spoke, but otherwise...

Vincent fucking Price. I loved his role in everything he did. Even in that shitbucket of crap-cum, "The Thief and the Cobbler." A movie that could have been, would have been great, if its creator had been allowed to finish it and hadn't been STOLEN by the Completion Bond Company...those fucking pricks...

Apologies for the size of the picture, but, this is a prime, famous example of art deco architecture; the Chrysler Building in Manhattan!

I give you: Hearst Tower in Charlotte, NC.

Here are two pictures I took of it late last summer:

And some from around the nets:

It's one of the things I love about Charlotte - we have a bunch of buildings done in various styles.

Aye, I spent some time in Charlotte! Spent a bunch of it at the beaches [sometimes doing more than swimming... >Big Grin] but I got to look around the city quite a bit. Fucking foster family kept trying to drag me off to see this one church...

That building is gorgeous, though. I didn't see it in person, unfortunately. :/
