I would need more background info. In order for it to be IED there would need to be a rule out of other mental illness and physical disorders that could have caused the behavior. So the diagnosis cannot be conclusive without her mental health, medical and behavioral history.

Here is an overview from Wiki:

Intermittent explosive disorder (abbreviated IED) is a behavioral disorder characterized by extreme expressions of anger, often to the point of violence, that are disproportionate to the situation at hand.

The diagnosis requires:

1.several episodes of impulsive behavior that result in serious damage to either persons or property, wherein
2.the degree of the aggressiveness is grossly disproportionate to the circumstances or provocation, and
3.the episodic violence cannot be better accounted for by another mental or physical medical condition.
