Or at least get them checked out, there's gotta be a lot of diseases in a 2000 year old corpse.

RE: Why Middle East?
Because it all stems from Greek mythology and spread. many Greeks lived in Palestine/Iraq/Iran/Egypt etc in biblical times. Zeus had sons with earthling virgins. When it came to the new invisible God invented by King Akenartum of Egypt, the Greeks had to think up a new son of this God, so invented the Mary/Joseph story. If you read the new International Bible, it says in there that Jesus was a Greek!! Religion is Greek mythology, nothing more, nothing less.

Zeus had sons with earthling virgins.

According to American Indians’ myths the heavenly beings were marrying Indian girls.
Did the Greek mythology cross the Atlantic?

We know where the American Indians were, say 12,000 years ago, but we have no idea if the Greeks even existed as a separate population by that time.

Mythology is not Greek; it is international, but the events to which the myths refer took place in the Near East.

Except when they weren't. The "events" which the Native American theologies speak of occurred in the Americas, not the middle east, that's when these "events" took place at all, ffs......

You are very adept at creating mythologies out of mythology though DT, so I have to give you credit for that. You missed your calling, should've been a priest (though in fairness, from my POV, you actually are).
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

It is not only marrying (raping) “mortal” women. The… heavenly beings of the American Indians (Northern and Central) behaved exactly as the Greek and Sumerian ones. The story is exactly the same.
The great Mexican god Quetzalcoatl besides his other many titles is also called messenger of the gods.

The Indians left Asia after the gods had been transformed into heavenly beings otherwise they wouldn’t know about the messengers.
Plato and Herodotus reports oblige us to estimate the age of the Egyptian priesthood at about 12.000 years. The fact that the Indians mention messengers of the gods means that there existed “representatives” of the gods (aka priests) while they were still in Asia.

There were no events that took place in the Americas. The myths of the Indians are based on 40.000 year old memories, as it happens with everybody else.

Way to dismiss the cultural and historical experience of two entire continents worth of peoples in service of your own fairy tales with one wave of the hand. Clap

For some reason or another I don't think that they would agree with you. Nor do I think that "academia" (I know how much you love them) feels that your explanation of their beliefs is a very compelling one. Ethnocentric anthropolgy ftl. Good thing the rest of us have moved past what you seem to be so mired in, or we wouldn't have such a colorful (and well demonstrated) picture of the origins of our beliefs. We'd still be stuck two centuries back, trying to shoehorn every myth we came across into our own favorite myth structures (amusingly they always seem to be part of our own heritage).

The American Indians’ historical experience is Asiatic; remember?

OK! I do have my own favorite myth structure.
In Academia, on the other hand, they are constructing their own myths.
Some of those Academic myths have been debunked by the archaeological finds in Gobekli Tepe.
I’m sure you are aware of this fact.

P.S. The last post in the thread about Shepherds-Bulls-Judges… will be devoted to you! Big Grin

I'd rather you "devoted" a peer reviewed paper to me.
