Certain parts of the Dead Sea Scrolls have been dated as far back as the 5th century B.C.E. or 500 years before Christ appeared on earth.

Not quite; the earliest of the Dead Sea Scrolls have been dated to ca 150 bce and are considered apochryphal, not canonical and are old Testament texts.



The oldest Christian text is "The Gospel of Thomas", a collection of sayings attributed to Jesus. That has been dated to somewhere between 30 and 110 ce. The Gospel of Thomas is not generally accepted as part of the Christian canon.

So far, in nearly 65 years, I have not once seen ANY credible evidence for the accuracy of biblical prophecy or any other form of fortune telling.

I usually stay away from quoting W. F. Albright....he was a bible thumper who also desperately wanted this shit to be true...however, in this instance his evaluation of the archaeological evidence relating to the DSS is purely mainstream.

Collaborative evidence for an early date came from archaeology. Pottery accompanying the manuscripts was late Hellenistic (c. 150– 3 B.C.) and Early Roman (c. 63 B.C. to A.D. 100). Coins found in the monastery ruins proved by their inscriptions to have been minted between 135 B.C. and A.D. 135. The weave and pattern of the cloth supported an early date. There is no reasonable doubt that the Qumran manuscripts came from the century before Christ and the first century A.D.
