'Wow' or 'Whoa' are shorter and work just fine without sounding like Beaver Cleaver. I've been trying to work on swearing less, not because its blasphemy or I'm a prude. I just think it's lazy and less descriptive. Asshole has become too generic, whereas Jackass, Snake, Chiseler and Clown are much more accurate for stubborn lying cheating fools. I still prefer twat for extra emphasis. But I do enjoy hearing creative insults like assclown and cock leper. Plus I've learned some extra colorful phrases here on AF. Thank you all.
