I've been very silent here lately, and that's because I am a big huge fucking geek. Srsly.

I work as Director of Registration for Anime Boston, which is a HUGE convention of over 15k and is show dedicated to Japanese culture, anime, and video games among other things. Back in 2008 there were serious registration problems and I had to work super hard to make registration as smooth and fast as possible and I succeeded. (Which is why some of the links below mention registration)

Anime Conventions: Basically a big fancy dress party for immature people. Shocking that I've never gone to one really, I'd imagine I'd love it. My sister did go to one in London a few weeks ago. She went as Lambo from Hitman Reborn. She made it sound very fun.

Anyway, welcome back to action =D

Anime yes, convention/cosplay no.

I'm a big fan of the Elfen Lied series. I also like the more serious Anime movies like "Wings of Honneamise". And since I have a huge fondness for monster movies in general, I also like the Anime series which feature large monsters and Robots like the Gundam Series.

I have this love hate relationship with conventions. I love seeing my friends, traveling, cosplaying, etc...

But I HATE the general population that go to these events. It's very socially awkward. I was sitting outside late Saturday night having a cigarette and this guy wanted me to kiss his hand and insisted even after I said no. Eventually he backed off, but it was still awkward. I mean, I'm not freaking out over the swine flu and I would never kiss a stranger's hand, but I wondered if this kid even had a clue about cleanliness.

But anyway, I'm still going to busy this Summer. I have 3 more conventions to attend. AnimeNEXT (Secaucus, NJ) next weekend, Otakon (Baltimore, MD - Which I will staff) and Connecticon (Hartford, CT - which is an anime/sci-fi/gaming con).

Being a staff member at a convention is a very different experience. You mostly get to work with people who have the same mental capacity as you. -_^

I like animie movies, what I have seen of them. Not so keen on the series...but I haven't really seen much.

Hopefully in future I will see more - if I have the fucking time! I've only really seen one of the final fantasy films. But I do appreciate the unique Japanese style...although I've hardly seen it.

When I was a kid...pokemon never did it for me though! I need something more sophisticated than that! Lol.
