I have converted to Christianity

I have spent a lengthy period of time analysing life from a philosophical, religious and scientific perspective. I have dabbled with Christianity on several occasions, I have also dabbled with other religions such as Buddhism, Pantheism and Atheism. Although I do have psychotic depression and am susceptible to false perceptions, I have an extreme level of self-awareness, and I have been having some very intense spiritual experiences in relation to God and Jesus Christ; I can no longer deny my belief in the profound nature of Christ.

I must admit it is a radical departure from scientific realism and atheism (and I was a staunch atheist), but my recent feelings have been so profound that I can no longer attribute them to anything other than God.

I know science discards anecdotal evidence as meaningless and unreliable; however, I now know that Christianity leads to a much greater and more profound level of truth than the scientific method could ever accomplish, particularly in the areas of emotional wisdom and morality.

At last a Christian who is honest and admits that his religious views may be the result of his psychosis, susceptibility and depression.

When I was young, there was a god with infinite power protecting me. Is there anyone else who felt that way? And was sure about it? but the first time I fell in love, I was thrown down - or maybe I broke free - and I bade farewell to God and became human. Now I don't have God's protection, and I walk on the ground without wings, but I don't regret this hardship. I want to live as a person. -Arina Tanemura

The word "dabble" in this context just makes me smile from cheek to cheek.
I respect you too much to believe that you could possibly hold those ridiculous beliefs. - Richard Dawkins, 2012

When did you "convert?"

Ding ding ding! And the million dollar question goes to Drich!

I am also curious... when was this "conversion"?

And better yet, how often has this happened in your life?

It couldn't have been more than a month ago. His last post was late march where he explained that anecdotal evidence isn't really evidence.

But seriously... this is the oldest, smelliest troll tactic in the book.

"Suddenly I believe in jesus now!"

How convenient.

Yep, looks like a troll to me. Came to this forum all dressed up as an atheist and suddenly has a series of delusions that changed his life.

Little do you realize that using such cheap tactics (lying and pretending to be someone else) might be frowned upon by your own god.

Furthermore, you made an effort to let us know about your conversion, which really raises eyebrows on your initial reasons for signing up. If you really converted, you would just leave quietly without anyone knowing. What's next? Will you take an apologetic stance and start debating against the views you held just months ago?

I don't think he's a troll. He made it clear when he joined that he had mental issues, which is not exactly something you want to do when using a fake conversion tactic. He also disappeared for about a month before this thread

Some lies are A-OK. Like ones that help circumnavigate peoples' intelligence n shit. So that they'll believe in jesus too, and everyone can spend eternity in heaven together, not having orgasms or smoking dope. I bet there's not even internet in heaven. I know I haven't received any emails from my deceased grandmother, despite telepathically giving both she and god my address.

I definitely call bullshit on this. You were a christian when you signed up and a terrible, impatient troll. Most surely you'll find lots in common with your heaven-mates, but I can assure you that none of the skeptics here are going to be inspired by this load of garbage, thus you're wasting your time. I guess that's okay with you, since you're sure you're getting another one after this.
