Ya know Pappy...that was one of my 'guilty' thoughts?
"Lucky him and not me?"

We all "Love to hate" young Callum.

Seriously though? We all love him dearly and would not wish any harm come to him, He is a very good (young) person and has so much potential, we wish him every happiness and success. This is a minor set back for him, with some luck and his keen mind he will come out of this adventure better and more financially equipped than ever.

Oh, then I didn't read it carefully enough. I thought it was you who had been hit. Glad to hear otherwise.

I'm having a hard time visualizing exactly what happened. Was the driver ahead of your bike causing the bike to hit him from behind? Or did the driver make a u turn from the opposite lane directly into the bike?

It is very hard to account for everything that can go wrong but people will do stupid things of course. Worse, so do the wildlife. I might have already told you the story of a friend of mine who was hit from the side by a deer crashing out of the woods and directly into his Honda Goldwing. It through him and his girlfriend off the bike but luckily did not total the bike. I was also hit once on my motorcycle doing what I swore I'd never do, riding in commute traffic on busy streets. The other guy's fault entirely but of course that is little comfort. As riders we like to think we are anticipating everything that can go wrong. He was sitting at a stop sign on two laner when I passed him in thick traffic on a 4 laner. I was looking to see his face but shadows and light through trees made that impossible. I was already in front of him when I saw him move. I sped up enough not to be hit directly but he clipped the back end of my bike. It was totaled but I was fine. I laid it down, pulled my under leg out in time and just skidded down the road behind it. I jumped up immediately to check traffic from behind but everyone stopped.

The Audi pulled over to the Left, with his left indicator going, and then turned right....crossing in front of the rider just after an intersection across a solid line.

The Audi driver is..I am to understand ...clearly in error as he was engaging in "dangerous driving" ...we drive on the left here whateverist.
Lucky you did that ...whateverist...same here with Callum...he "ditched the bike" and rolled.... a broken should is the worst he has....it could have been alot worse. Sad

Wow. That is really gross negligence. Day time? I hope the driver was well ensured and that your young friend gets plenty of compensation and that you get the replacement value of the bike.

I've driven around London. Not so bad driving on the left side .. so long as everyone stays where they are supposed to be. You really can't relax while driving on the opposite side than you're used to .. and it is surprising how strong the urge is to get back to that side.

Understood whateverist. Sorry Chuff, you drive here it is on the LEFT!!

Yes, young Callum is not your average dumb fuck kid. Quite fiscally and legally savvy.... In Perth there is only 3 degrees of separation. Tongue
