Should man rule over women for women’s own good?
RE: Should man rule over women for women’s own good?
This is how I see it, you may not agree because it is related to God, but I understand. I believe that God created a perfect creation. With man and women at the top of that creation together. Then due to free will sin entered. God should have destroyed all humans, man and women, but out of love he will forgive if we believe in him. If you try to think about my believes, I believe God could instantly destroy us all but he gave me and others forgiveness. If that happened to you wouldn't you do what he says to try to show your love. For instance excepting your role, even though you don't exactly fit into to the standards ( I'm not exactly he strong man depicted in the Bible) What I tying to say if you believed what I do you would try, like me, to follow his commands.

So we should follow the rules and keep our mouth shut about them because God could snuff us out at any time? That sure as hell doesn't sound like free will to me. And you've abandoned your earlier point of saying men and women are equal, are you saying now that they are on different levels, but we must accept it because God says so? I see no equality whatsoever in this farrago of nonsense.

Maybe I can clarify this a bit, let's see. The position of some of the members here is that the bible sets divergent social and moral standards for men and women, placing more import upon the man, which it clearly does. It sounds like your position is that the bible has made all (men and women) equal in christ, which it also says, and has been acknowledged by other members.

I'm liking your posts because they're not pushy. If you make positive position statements (preach) without giving consideration to the other side, then you're likely to face unnecessary opposition from some members on this board. I'd like you to stick around. Remaining level-headed is the surest path to longevity here on this site.
Welcome

Firstly I did talk about gender equality at the start Adam and Eve were both at the top of creation. About God destroying us what I meant is explained in parables. For instance one is about a man who finds treasure in a field, he burys rhe treasure and them sells every thing he has to buy the field. To me God is the treasure and I am doing all I can because God offered me forgiveness. For example this is why a few days ago a googled 'atheist fourms' to spread this news of this 'treasure' I am alao rememinded by a song I listen to ' I counted up the cost' which says I 've counted up the cost and You(God) are worth it.

"Let me save you from what I'm going to do if you don't let me save you."

Very compelling argument.

Also, I have given multiple bible verses saying that men are supposed to be the dominant and masters over women. All you can give is that we are both offered salvation equally. That's not the issue. The issue is that here, on earth, your bible promotes the idea that women shod be submissive and lesser than men. And the bible is VERY explicit in this.

Woah. I'm going to try not to let that strike a nerve with me. Makes me want cry or throw up or both. </3

On mobile so I can't say much, but just saying "god created men and women and both men and women can achieve salvation doesn't say a damn thing about gender equality.

I hope your not taking it that I am forcing my religion on you, I am not trying to, I am sorry if it seemed that way. I am just explaining that this is how I see things. We both won't see it the same way, we are both unique but I am hoping you can understand what I feel about the topic from my point of view because I am honestly try my best to see from your prospective.

I hope now if you read my earlier comments you will maybe see a little clearer about my views on gender equality.

Take heart. Her warmth and love have helped to mold this former obnoxious asshole into a beautiful man who knows what he was, and is grateful for what he's become.

ETA: She is definitely reaping a harvest from her commitment. My wife has my full devotion and submission. There is nothing that I wouldn't do for her. I cannot deny that her devotion to me played an immense role in my transformation. No god required (at least not for me).
