If religion continues to decline, I genuinely expect to see them unite in some fashion or another against "militant secularism" or whatever they call it.
ETA: I don't mean I think this would happen any time soon.

Each cult is so blind, with such deep antipathy for those who espouse similar sentiments about different imagination trips, that I doubt that will happen any time soon.

Yeah - the towel heads and the child rapers will never unite. That's the one thing we have going for us.

No matter what religon people follow, they are constantly contradicting themselves. My favorite thing is to ask them why without the aid of scripture (in their own words). Try it and watch the silence.

So, you are referring to an extremely small number of Catholic priests? How is it reasonable to use such a small number of Catholic priests as a synecdoche for the entirety of Catholicism, or, as you are using it, all of Christianity?
"God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8).
"Always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you" (1 Peter 3:15).

I asked a Christian friend the other day how she reconciled the fact that believers of other faiths felt just as much conviction as she does. She didn't or couldn't answer. Instead she told me that God's little voice told her that I was special, that there was a plan for me, and if I didn't answer the call he would choose someone else for the task. Appealing to my huge ego, I guess. I told her that I would continue on my path; not because of God or some eternal reward, but because it was the right thing to do. Ironically, I have been told the exact same thing by a Muslim friend. I actually find it quite insulting. They see the good things that I do and assign them to God. Fuck that! I work hard at the things I do; I won't have them stripped away by people who can't stand on their own merit.

Personally I am thinking that they are their OWN worst enemy
