Has anyone asked if the suspect was sane prior to his insane attack?
People who are reading their Bible multiple times a day may be attempting to treat some inner demon, like how many schizophrenics attempt to self medicate and self treat.
He may have already been on the verge of a psychotic break or it may have been counting down.
Though, I cannot dismiss the possibility of the drug (Marijuana) providing the final push over the edge, from crazy->violently crazy.
