I assure you the answer is not fucking "jesus."

I assure you the answer is not fucking "jesus." Interesting article, but it does indeed leave a thing or two unexplained. I wondered if the stopping or slowing of blood from the placenta might cause a drop in blood oxygen level, which itself might trigger a reflex, but I'm not sure there's sufficient time for that to be responsible. I'm sure there's also a radical change in blood pressures throughout the baby's cardiovascular system as well. ![]() (July 10, 2012 at 1:42 am)cato123 Wrote:(July 10, 2012 at 1:04 am)Desecrated Wrote: I'm not a christian myself, but I got a pretty good question recently that I was not able to answer with satisfaction. Genesis 2:7 then the LORD God formed the man of dust from the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living creature. isaiah 42:5 Thus says God, the LORD, who created the heavens and stretched them out, who spread out the earth and what comes from it, who gives breath to the people on it and spirit to those who walk in it: job 33:4 The Spirit of God has made me, and the breath of the Almighty gives me life. Oh goody, bible verses, that explains anything

Perhaps you should have said "A christian would mention these verses from the bible". As for your original post, Argument from Ignorance, or Argument from Personal Incredulity . Both PRAT positions. You might as well ask, "why do we breathe?" Why are you breathing right now? Why do you feel an impulse to keep breathing? Wouldn't a newborn simply feel the same impulse?
Science flies us to the moon and stars. Religion flies us into buildings.
God allowed 200,000 people to die in an earthquake. So what makes you think he cares about YOUR problems?
No, no, no! I'm pretty sure that babies start breathing because Jesus comes and blows magic breath into their lungs. I mean, I can't explain it because I've not even tried to look it up, so that must mean that it's a supernatural phenomenon.

I immediately feared that I was in store for an amateur Skrillex wannabe. I was pleasantly surprised. I wish you continued success. 'Ghettometal 2' has a Poisonblack/Bill Conti feel. Odd combination I know, but that's what I thought of when I listened. (I know Poisonblack are Finnish. Just referencing their sound.) |
