I have to agree, the technology and in some cases even the knowledge is there. It is the exorbitance of cost for people to actually do the things that is holding it all back. When most of the inventions mentioned so far had been made it was a lot cheaper to do so, as well as less restricted. Back when the airplane was invented there was no governmental agency standing over their shoulders, frowning and telling them not to do that, it might hurt someone. Not only that but the litigious nature of society now also makes it a very daunting task to try to create any new things. First person to get hurt accidentally by something you created and suddenly you lose everything in a lawsuit and can't continue with he project. There are many factors at work here, but I have hope that as time goes on innovation and invention will pick back up and we will see the radical advances we need to see to get to such lofty places as transportation devices and things of that nature.

I have a certain distaste for the emoticons, and particularly despise the laughing/rolling dude when used in response to one's own statement, but.....
Holy fuck that was funny! "Nearly naked, body all ripped,....". Oh, fuck me. I'm still laughing but can no longer piss myself since I've emptied the tank.
