Quote:@Brian37, why can't you wear clothing that says what you believe?
Generally speaking, 'You' can (are capable) and may (and need no permission) to wear just about what you like, within laws of public decency. OK,there was that time locally when a very nice young lady was arrested for wearing a cheesecloth dress with talcum powder as her only undergarment.
In this case, Brain is just being a dick,as is his wont.
Just remember,if you're a bloke;

No one is talking about fucking laws here. You are right, I do not need anyone's permission. But if an atheist, at least in America, shows up to a public memorial and proclaims what they are, or wears something indicating what they are, MAYBE NOT ALL, but a wide majority, will see it as an intrusion on their mourning.
I am being a dick, because human suffering is not a fucking monopoly owned solely by believers OF ANY LABEL, at any point in our evolution.
If you seriously think there is no implied demand on the part of the theistic majority for atheist to keep their mouth shut, you are a fool, no matter what setting we are talking about.
I AM being a dick because WE ARE all the same fucking species.

Big fucking deal.
What's next, a bitch thread on the revelation that people treat each other badly?
Really, this whole... tangent that you've screamed up Brian, is just a fucking canard.
A) Your idiot title and keywords show up on Google. Thanks a fucking lot buddy.
B) Your actual point is over human nature being unreasonable
Bi) Your bitching would be no more unique than a group of Christians in a majority Muslim country feeling like they can't express themselves
Bii) except we're not in a majority Muslim country -- we're in the US
Biii) Which removes the actual threat of death/dismemberment/forced conversion that other countries are so fond of
Biiii) leaving you with simply "They're mean to me!" (of course, begging the question -- who is being abusive?)
C) You have no initial impetus (like a Congressman saying "Atheists can't mourn on $(some event)")
It's nice you have the candor to shit over your own threads. It's still shit.

Vile according to whom?
I have to go with the general sentiment: I'm not much of a promoter of my beliefs to begin with, and I find it reprehensible to utilize a tragedy in order to make a statement, even if I agree with the message stated. It strikes me as being in the same moral neighborhood as asshole preachers who drag out their soapbox to remind everyone that (according to how they interpret their dogma) Jesus told y'all this was gonna happen.

(1) Argumentum ad populum. I don't give a flying fuck what the majority wants. Plus this is Australia, not the US. We are one of the more irreligious countries on earth. Aussies are more likely to get abusive towards proselytising Christians who get in their face than an atheist wearing a badge or T shirt..

(2) Ad hominem. I am indeed a fool who knows it (unlike you who seem to have limited insight) but not for that reason. Also an hilariously ironic thing to say, common in your posts..
I have no issue with you being a dick, after all, I'm one of the resident cunts. It's just that with the dickness comes an annoying twitness. I guess I just don't like the personality you present here.
