If I were to kill an animal myself I would feel bad for a little while, but I imagine that the guilt would pass when I am munching on their delicious flesh.

If it were necessary for my survival, I would probably feel the same way, frankiej. Since it's not, and I have a whole foods market less than 2 miles from my house, and plenty of money to spend there....

Hope you don't live in America, otherwise I'd ask how you survive. Went to loads of restaurants in Las Vegas 10 years ago and the selection wasn't exactly fantastic but they catered to most, went there a couple of months ago, and simply asked for just a jacket potato, and they all gave me stupid looks. WTF has the USA become? o_0

Not currently vegan, but I'm a lactose intolerant vegetarian who doesn't like the taste of eggs, so I go through phases of trying to be vegan for own good. I only ever last a few months though.

I'm a little disappointed by the defensiveness of some of the replies. If you're not a veg*n, why reply at all? I hoped for better from this place.
