Yeah, some are just old sloppy people who I think have not nearly enough family support. I saw one where a very old woman was living surrounded by her own used diapers. The daughter was all upset and saying how her mom had never let her in. Fuck that! Never, ever in my lifetime will my mother stew in her own shit. I would have found a way to fix that problem stat. I would rather see her in a shelter with caring social workers than in a situation where she is alone and in that much danger from contamination.

that's when it's not even funny for me, that's hard to watch. i certainly agree that my folks will not be rolling like that.

i see a buddy of mine starting on that path. i buy storage bins sometimes from auctions. i call him if i only wanted a certain item out of it and tell him he can surf thru the rest if he likes. he thinks everything old is valuable! fucker has a house like fred sanford now. he thinks every old toy gun is real and worth $2500. it's sad. and he won't listen, b/c he's in his 50s - so to him, i'm the ignorant one. funny ...

I do really like "Pawn Stars." Some really interesting shit comes through their doors.

My brother (whom I share a house with) is a big fan of that and "American Pickers", so I find myself sitting through both shows from time to time. While I'm not really a fan, there are some interesting antiques / historical artifacts that come up from time to time.

I just wish they'd go back to showing documentaries (and no, not bullshit like "Ancient Aliens"). I don't think we get H2 with our package, I'll have to check. I don't generally look at the listings, other than what's on my (very short) favorite channels list.
