Are we related then? Slime mould is as good a definition of some of my cousins as I could think of.

I still can't help but feel the pre-6000 year old civilizations will be upset to hear they were just monkey men without souls.
Self-authenticating private evidence is useless, because it is indistinguishable from the illusion of it. ― Kel, Kelosophy Blog

If you’re going to watch tele, you should watch Scooby Doo. That show was so cool because every time there’s a church with a ghoul, or a ghost in a school. They looked beneath the mask and what was inside?
The f**king janitor or the dude who runs the waterslide. Throughout history every mystery. Ever solved has turned out to be. Not Magic.

Why should anybody be upset, the process of evolution has worked on us all, and you know what as hard as I look for it I cannot find a soul, although I ate a very nice fillet of smoked halibut the other week.

What made you think we wanted to go over this again Drich? Aren't you satisfied with the 30+ pages of why your hypothesis is complete horseshit?

I like this little addition of Drich's, because it shows us two things. One, that the word of god can be wholly inadequate, and two, that Drich has the hubris to believe he can add anything of value to it.

Next thing you know, he'll be giving Jesus adamantium claws and the ability to shoot laser beams out of his eyes.
Even if the open windows of science at first make us shiver after the cozy indoor warmth of traditional humanizing myths, in the end the fresh air brings vigor, and the great spaces have a splendor of their own - Bertrand Russell

It's what sunflowers need to promote growth and flowering.

This is the worst codswallop I've read in a while.

Though, to oblige you, let's play this game.
So, there are two different human species. How does the genes of the 'garden variety' differ from the 'monkey'? Is there anything else than the 'soul gene'? And is it a recessive gene or a dominant one? If it's recessive, then it's likely that many humans are born without a soul. I thought that a soul was required to enter heaven, so this only proves that your god is highly unfair for not giving some individuals a fighting chance in the first place. And what is the evolutionary benefit of having a soul?
When I was young, there was a god with infinite power protecting me. Is there anyone else who felt that way? And was sure about it? but the first time I fell in love, I was thrown down - or maybe I broke free - and I bade farewell to God and became human. Now I don't have God's protection, and I walk on the ground without wings, but I don't regret this hardship. I want to live as a person. -Arina Tanemura

Since the benefit only shows up after you're dead (heaven vs hell) there can be no evolutionary benefit. But that doesn't bother the Drinch. His whole point is we would never have attained our specialness through evolution alone. He is pretty sure there is a gap here only God almighty can fill but I'll be a monkeyman's uncle if I can find it.

Seeming as humans living nearly 4.5 billion years together without producing any offspring features as part of his hypothesis, I doubt he'd have a problem with that.
