Paul Ryan
If you needed another reason to not vote for Romney/Ryan, here you go. Part of Ryan's sanctity of human life act.

That's merely Jezebel's characterization of the bill--oh, wait, I mean the two sentences of the bill that they quote--not the language of the bill itself.

How about an argument--from the text of the bill and caselaw--that this kind of suit could stand?

You think Capitan Christian up there gives a shit about facts? This is his team you're talking about, he's going to root for them no matter how horrible they'd be for women & this country in general.

Romney could have personally closed the company Clive works for & Ryan could have personally denied him unemployment insurance & he'd still be rimming them both.

Except he wouldn't, because that would be an abomination. Like shellfish & polyester blends. Tongue

There you go with the generalizations again.

I care about facts. For example, the fact that the article linked didn't mention any bills that Ryan or Romney actually voted on. Ryan's essay that the article links--you read that, right?--doesn't discuss cases of rape. So I think the article's inference is unfounded (though not necessarily untrue).

Let's be reasonable people, shall we? Just forget which parties we plan on voting for, and let's try to answer this question:

Under Ryan's "sanctity of human life" act, would a rapist be able to sue his victim in order to prevent her from aborting the fetus?

Now, what is relevant to this question: (Not necessarily exhaustive)

1) The language of the "sanctity of human life" act

Things that are not relevant to this question: (Not necessarily exhaustive)

1) Whether CliveStaples likes Paul Ryan or Mitt Romney.
2) Obama's birth certificate.
3) Bain Capital.
4) Whether the "sanctity of human life" act is good policy

But we already know the answer to that. The legal experts have already examined it. Poked & prodded. The rapist wouldn't even have to sue as abortions would be illegal across the board. This law has no exceptions for rape, incest or viability of the fetus & it was done this way on purpose.

If a zygote = human & every unexplained death requires investigation, every miscarriage would technically need to be investigated to see if "foul-play" was involved.

This is a law that would make IUDs & some forms of pill contraceptives illegal. I.e. if any fertilized zygote is equivalent to a human being then preventing it from implanting in the uterine wall would be tantamount to manslaughter. This bill is that broad & poorly worded.

It would also make In Vitro fertilization illegal.

It's a bad law. I know you bible-thumpers have a hard on for trying to get around the Right to Privacy, that basically enables the legality of abortion, but this way isn't going to work.

Of course, making birth control & IVF illegal would probably be the absolute fastest way to destroy the neo-con / dominionist movement, but boy howdy are they short sighted.

NO all he's doing is spewing lies & propaganda in hopes of convincing some retard indpendent into voting for them
