It's been another year, and Atheist Forums is now 4 years old!
Now for your annual stats update. In the past year, we have had:
- 1,443 new users registered.
- 5,997 new threads created.
- 151,494 new posts!
These numbers reflect the enormous amount of growth our community has seen. In terms of content being produced, the number of threads and posts made in this year year alone accounts for almost 50% of the total number of threads and posts ever created.
In addition, the number of new posts made this year is double the number made last year.
Oh yes, and for those kudos whores, you'll be glad to know that over the course of the last year, 107,378 kudos was given out. That's up from 41,100 in the previous year.
Let's hope the next year is just as eventful, and we continue our rise in popularity! Remember to invite people you know, or talk about us on other forums. The bigger the community gets, the more we can do.

In honour of the occasion, I shall share a piece of ancient philosophical doggerel we used to recite at school. Sing along if you know it:
"Happy Birthday to you,
You live in a zoo
You look like a monkey
And evolved from one too!"
Ok, so I may have adapted it slightly to include more modern research, but the sentiment remains intact.
Do we now get a timer counting down to next year? After all, five is one of those milestone birthdays, you know.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'

Though I can't really compare myself to you (being so awesome and all), I have to say that we think alike a lot. I was about to post this one too, but now it seems redundant..
When I was young, there was a god with infinite power protecting me. Is there anyone else who felt that way? And was sure about it? but the first time I fell in love, I was thrown down - or maybe I broke free - and I bade farewell to God and became human. Now I don't have God's protection, and I walk on the ground without wings, but I don't regret this hardship. I want to live as a person. -Arina Tanemura

Wow, talk about great minds thinking alike! I swear I never saw that film before you posted the clip; it's just something I suppose all kids sing at some point, really.
Oh, and please don't consider yourself anything less than awesome (that goes for almost all of you) - otherwise I shall set my niece Rosie on you and she knows no mercy!

I can honestly say, this is the best fucking website I've ever come across. When I came here April 14th last year to share my crazy ancient astronaut theories, I never thought I'd learn so much from this site, get so much enjoyment from it, spend so much time here and meet so many genuinely wonderful people.
Thanks to Tiberius for creating this place 4 years ago, and thanks everyone else (I mean everyone, even you reading this you good looking bastard you) for making this place a truly magnificent forum to take part in.
There's my stick your fingers down your throat moment, so without further 'ado...
