V for Vendetta was an excellent movie.

I can't find any fault with it at all.

In all fairness, I have to say I quite like The Andromeda Strain and especially Westworld... that shock moment when Yul Brynner turns to Richard Benjamin after killing James Brolin, fixes him with that chilling stare and that smile, and simply says "Draw!" Classic cinema. Jurassic Park, though, book and film, was just Westworld with dinosaurs; in fact, I imagine the working title was probably DinoWorld or something. Actually, JP the book had a much better ending when:

I only came to read the comic after I saw the movie, so maybe my tastes were skewed a bit, but I also prefer the screen version. What annoyed me most was the first panel, which if memory serves is meant to show the original attempt to blow up Parliament, and whoever drew it - Moore, I guess - drew completely the wrong building (the later Palace of Westminster, rebuilt after the medieval original was destroyed in the fire of 1834). Silly thing to get hung up about I realise, but it would have been more impressive if the artist had got it right. Or not shown the building at all apart from the cellars where Guy Fawkes was captured.

I tried to find faults with VFV. No luck. I genuinely tried. Having read the comics, I was expecting, at best, a mediocre movie with some terrific acting at least [seriously the lineup of actors was delicious].

Oh man were my socks blown off. That movie wasn't good, or excellent, it was perfect. One of those rare films where I have to give it a 10/10. I tried to nitpick. Couldn't even do that. There is no "my biggest complaint" or "my only complaint." Every bit of that movie had me on the edge of my seat with my eyes going wide as saucers, and I STILL can't watch the Parliament being blown to smithereens with the 1812 Overture howling full-force without suffering a massive gleegasm. And not because it's a British building; if it had been the White House or Capitol Building being blown up like that in such a universe I would feel the exact same way. The fact that V was given a viking funeral and the final triumph over corruption and tyranny in a dystopian, oppressive world was just BEAUTIFUL.

The MST3K theatrical movie. The running time was shorter than the episodes.

The Total Recall remake. It was just so bland compared to the original. It had nothing rememberable.

mine is a book and a film,
but its one of my favourite book and one of my favourite films.
IT by stephen king

Stephen king in my opinion writes the most fucking terrifying books which are made into some of the best films. The shining, pet semetary and IT are the best examples i can think of.
But the endings are sometimes soo shiiiiiiiiiit and IT is a typical example of this.
SPOILER ALERT JUST INCASE YOURE THINKING ABOUT READING THIS BOOK!

The ending for IT is ridiculously predictable, the main good guy and his wife living happily ever after the bad guys ALL die. I like a book were either all the good guys die or most of them, it really spoils it for me to have a corny ending in such a good book. In my brain i just change the ending to most of the good guys dying.
The films ending is the same as the books and also the film leaves out some of the best bits of the book but saying that it does a good job of trying to include everything.

And then we extinguish them.

I saw IT when I was 10 years old and it terrified me shitless. But then again I was 10 and 10 year olds are also known for loving The Phantom Menace.

It's heartening to learn that I'm not the only one who thinks that way about Stephen King, though in my opinion the actual horror content of his work is variable at best. He can come up with really imaginative scenarios and compelling monsters, pit them against engaging characters (the same ones again and again), but his books don't so much end as just stop. It's like he suddenly runs out of steam, or the publishing deadline comes up before he's finished so he has to scribble something, anything, to bring it to a close.

because of IT i cant walk in dark areas alone at night anymore without imagining the corpse of somone i used to know chasing me, hearing their footsteps squelching behind me and seeing the dead corpse face of my grandad or the guy who i used to work with who died or a guy i used to know who commited suicide.
To have an epic beast who can turn into ANYTHING to make you scared, even dead kids that can talk to you from down a drain hole, and then have it being killed by 7 people only 1 of which dies, well its just a shame.
And i know what you mean when you say stephen kings books just tend to stop. Under the dome is a prime example of that, but it was a good book while it lasted.
