However, I think you are preaching to the converted (if you will forgive the expression) Nothing as prosaic as archaeological and/or historical evidence will convince the believer of anything which contradicts dogma. Far too threatening.

Everybody knows that god sent angels with giant vacuum cleaners after the Israelites during their migration in the Sinai desert. So it is not suprising that there would be no archaeological trace of the exodus

If god can do that, he can eliminate the archaeological evidence for the events which are protrayed in the Old Testament

The Cave of the Patriarchs massacre was a terrorist attack that occurred when Baruch Goldstein, an Israeli settler and member of the far-right Israeli Kach movement, opened fire on unarmed Palestinian Muslims praying inside the Ibrahim Mosque (or Mosque of Abraham) at the Cave of the Patriarchs site in Hebron in the West Bank. I saw that in a documentary recently.

PLUS it seems that not only did the Jews NOT conquer Canaan,they WERE Canaanites, probably refugees from the crumbling Mesopotamian empires.


The Biblical claims of Joshua's conquests and genocide in "The Promised Land' are contradicted by current archaeology,as far as I'm aware. (As indeed is the myth of the Exodus)

That's just a hypothesis put forth that is no more valid than my professor who believed they came from the Sea Peoples.

Current archeology as far as I aware only contradicts what they believe to be Jericho (they aren't even sure it's the right fucking city to begin with) was destroyed by fire instead of by earthquake.

So basically, when archeologists say they found an ancient city (whether Biblical or not), my first question to them is...are you sure? Where's the corollary evidence linking this city you just found to the name you placed upon it?
