Creationism

And the list goes on...

Actually it doesn't ... ID isn't science so it does not argue "scientifically"! Oh sure they pretend to but they make a number of flaws in their reasoning that basically moves ID lock stock and barrel into religious territory. This is hardly surprising since ID is essentially creationism with all the references to "God" removed and replaced with neutral pseudo-scientific terms and this has led some to refer to it as creationism in a cheap tuxedo.

So yeah, the list goes on, but they are really nowhere near as significant as you'd like to have us believe.

For a self proclaimed rationalist that's quite a leap in reasoning. Faith should be a doddle for you Wink

Blah, blah, blah ... you just keep on whacking out the same old baseless assertions don't you Frodo? Even as a theist you're a waste of space!

No Frodo it isn't because ID is a reformatting of creationism ... it's well understood that it is so. They even revised the standard creationism textbook, "Of Panda's and People", replacing references to creationism with ones for Intelligent Design.

If you even attempted to look into the history of the creationism movement you would realise that this is correct ... first of all attempts to get the theory of evolution thrown out of the basis that it was against religion, then that it was bad science, then that creation science was science, then that evolution was a religion and then that both were science again all the time while creationism morphed into creation science to scientific creationism and finally intelligent design.

Firstly it wasn't that bad, secondly you're no angel (you're a hypocrite) and thirdly get a life will you (all you seem to be out to do is score points)?

You're (I'd say deliberately, but lets be generous) missing the point Kyu.

You said "as you'd like to have us believe" insinuating that Arcanus seeks to twist the truth here. Which is baseless. To use your own word.

It's unfortunate, I would enjoy that episode.

anyway is there a diffrence between I.D. and creationism? I will read about it on wikipedia, but what I've heared have both the same kind of ideas.

Then he should put it on pay per view. I'd pay money to see that!
I was never taught 'Creationism' in school. I was taught evolution which I still believe in to this daySmile I never even heard of creationism until a few years ago and frankly I'm floored that any intelligent human being would buy into this load of crap. JMO.

No, I don't think I am! Intelligent Design's historical growth from creationism is near impossible to deny (yet as usual you appear to be able to do just that).

Arcanus is far too smart to be deluded so I can only assume he had an agenda when he said that so, yeah, I think it is entirely fair to say he was twisting the truth!

It was implicit in what he said.

Firstly my response to him CLEARLY referred to his claim that Intelligent Design argued scientifically (it doesn't) and secondly I am not your mate and never will be (I don't befriend theists).
