I don't know about Christians, but Shia Muslims, my experience with them, is they are not afraid to debate and have someone challenge their faith.
You can stick around here, I suggest you do. Just tone it down a bit and everyone will love you again.
I'm not asking for love. I just want to debate my own co-religionists. That's all. But they make it very hard. And I don't want to debate in an open thread like this. My experience with Christians is they usually evade a question if they have no answers or the only answers would undermine their position. And they have honed this evasion to an art. In a formal debate, they can't run away and hide. They have limited time to reply and they MUST reply. After some experience with debating Christians in an open thread, I've run out of patience. For me, it's a formal debate or no go.
But as you can see for yourself, that won't happen here or anywhere else. Christians will use the Bible mightily but when challenged to defend their Bible, they flee. It's the same in Christian Forums. They just ban the debater they think is probably "less" of a believer. The beauty of AF or any atheist forum is there is no special place designated for atheists only, quite unlike Christian forums. In CF, all discussions of Christian theology can only be made by Christians. All formal debates are for Christians only. It's as if Christians are an endangered species. I managed to get in on the basis of my religion but I got banned after my Opening Speech. You can see this in the link I posted a few posts up.

Sorry to contradict you but many well known atheist fora have "atheist only" areas and many have places where they quarantine theists as caged chew toys.
I'm sorry you are stuck in a bit of a no-mans land that's hindering your obvious desire to stage a formal debate.
* Not old enough. (I really dont want to win or lose against a 13 year old)
* Too much like an atheist for some.
* Not atheist enough for others. (I dont want to debate Christian doctrine with a fellow Christian on an atheist forum.)
* Having difficulty formalising the scope and definitions for a topic. (God,Truth, Sin, Evil, Canon)

Lion, since when did these objections start to emerge? On page 3, you were prepared to have a debate with me, provided a group of you could collaborate to oppose me alone. See your own post on page 3 of this thread - here is the link:
http://atheistforums.org/thread-14793-po...#pid339546
This is what you said:
Quote: Hey greneknight,
Is it OK if a few of us Christians anonymously collaborate and write the debate posts together then you wont know which one of your *cough* fellow Christians it is you are actually debating?
You did not state the objections you're now raising. I replied that your suggestion to have a group of you debating me alone was fine with me. Just appoint someone to be the spokesman so I don't have to read too many different posts. Is that ok?

No, truth shall not hide under the bed, as Jesus himself said or is supposed to have said. It should be exposed. I know many "Bible-believing" Christians would rather not let such a debate to be exposed to the world. I can understand why. But I say let the world see the Ultimate Battle of the Universe between Godschild and Greneknight.

I don't see any reason why Christians would want to keep your debate under wraps. It's not like the outcome of the debate is going to be a milestone in changing the Christian faith.

I keep hearing about these atheist forums that don't allow theists. Could anyone provide an example, as I've yet to find one? Not that I'm particularly looking for one, but every forum I've seen is heaving with theists who seem determined that atheists not be allowed to have an atheist-only gathering place.

Yep and this time you managed to get in the basis of your religion and prove yourself totally inept in defending it after accusing other Christians of doing the same.
Well done. You're not a hypocrite at all.

I've not found an atheist forum that bans theists. Well, ones that are not trolls.

I think some theists love getting themselves banned so that they can play maryter at theist websites. I do have to say that those theists who do that are in the minortity. I am on 3 main atheist sites and while they do have different mods and tollerence levels for certain things, over all long term I have not seen a tsunami of boots at all.
I think the mods of all these sites bend over backwards to accomidate all sorts of posters.

Agreed - by and large.
Atheist sites which discourage diversity of views wouldnt let me stay long.
