Looking for a study

I remember watching a youtube video about how people shut off the critical thinking part of their brain when they listen to an expert on an issue or an authority figure and there was a study that showed that.

Anyone come across that study?

No but it makes sense. Look at the number of asshole theists we have around here who shut off their brains when some fucking preacher starts running his mouth.

I'm rather skeptical of the notion of "critical thinking areas" of the brain, but I understand what you're saying, and it would be an interesting result, I'm just coming up scratch on googling it. (I thought selective attention, but that's diffeerent.)
