Your encouragement to get me back to shape!

RE: Your encouragement to get me back to shape!
I did a lot of sculpting by default when I was younger. It wasn't so much on purpose as it was that I worked every part of myself with the various workouts I enjoyed combined with my job. I wouldn't get too hung up on appearance unless you can delude yourself into thinking you're perfection.

I'm getting accustomed with the dieting side of body sculpting at the moment. Becoming the epitome of aesthetics is something I seriously want for myself and cannot wait to achieve this goal.

Also, I love Zyzz.

My husband does bodybuilding... Protein... You've gotta eat massive amounts of protein. Work out a lot, rotating what parts you work. I think he does a day of chest and tris, a day for legs (hitting calves, hammies, and quads), a day of bis, traps, and back, and I can't remember what else. He does his base weight and with each set of reps he increases the amount of weight, normally 3-4 sets of each exercise. Protein before and after the workout. He also takes a slew of supplements. Your body type will either help or hinder you, but even if you have difficulty putting on weight (the worst body-type for this kind of thing) it can be done. That's my husband's body-type and he was competing in natural competitions about 7 or 8 years ago (pre-kids), he's still the same size with a wee bit more body fat (probably 5-7% now, when he was competing he'd get down to 3%). It's kind of sick actually, it's an obsession of his, not body perfection, but the workouts definitely are. If he goes more than a couple days without a workout, I've been known to kick him out of the house until he goes to the gym. Those endorphins are like crack. Downside, if anyone we know is moving... he gets asked to help.

Thanks for sharing. He's exactly the kind of person I want to be, from the sounds of it. I want to dedicate my life to this. It's a lifestyle.

Also, I am ectomorphic and that's exactly how I want it. I don't want to be bulky; I want to be skinny and lean.

This guy (Zyzz) is my role model:

How does your husband stack up to this guy? =O

The guy in the picture has a super-low body fat percentage. Which takes more cardio, and pre-competition a lot of guys starve and dehydrate themselves to get more definition and to meet their weight limit. In terms of muscle mass, my husband is pretty similar to that, but he carries a bit more fat (slightly less defined), because he doesn't like to starve and he's very grumpy when he does. It's easier to build muscle mass if you don't focus so heavily on body fat, because you need the calories to build mass, especially as an ectomorph who doesn't put on fat easily. Then once desired mass has been achieved, drop that last bit of fat. Check out photos for off season bodybuilders, you'll see what I'm talking about. But, yeah, hubby is comparable, albeit with the ability to pinch about 1/2 an inch of fat off those abs.

Went to the gym today. Worked out shoulders and a bit of abs. Also played volleyball. An ok day for exercise, not the best, but ok.

My back is holding up well. I have been riding every day. Next 2 days I am having a forced break to gather my strength for my 50km ride around Sydney on Sunday.

Glad to hear it. I hope your 50 km ride goes well.

I biked for 1 hour. I also worked out arms. Maybe later I'll do something else like run. We'll see.
