Pick your own username colour

RE: Pick your own username colour
I would want to, just so I could go out of the way to find a color nobody else is using and use that.
I live on facebook. Come see me there. http://www.facebook.com/tara.rizzatto

My point is, there are two ways of doing this:

1) we have a finite list of "allowed" colours you can choose from.
2) we let people choose any color, but some ranges are reserved.

The latter is harder to implement. We'd have to ban the entire red and green ranges, and I'm not even sure I'd know how to do that.

Maybe as a sort of compromise you could have a different colour dependent on post count as well as donators status and whatever else. That way the colours have a bit of meaning and maybe have it so people can revert to previous username colours if they like them more than there most recent one.

That's even more complicated that option 2, lol. :-)

Yes, but also because I'm tired of the color-centric mindset of those who are privileged enough to see the full range of the spectrum a human is intednded to see. It is insulting to the colorly-challenged when insensitive ideas such as this are bandied about without any consideration for those they these ideas harm. I'm thinking about starting a new movement called "Atheism -" with frankiej. It's atheism minus all of the harmful, color-centric insensitivity that the privileged aren't even aware they propagate.

(If you're not with me you're an asshole, and a colorly-challenged bigotry supporter.)

And how about having each letter cycling through the colour palette, like one of those animated neon signs? Angel
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

Why? Can't you make staff members to have bolded usernames? Surely there's a way to do it.

I know it's possible, as I've said I've seen it on other forums.

Bolding isn't enough. The whole point of having separate colours is that staff are easy to identify from other users. If a member chooses the same colour red as an admin, boldness really isn't going to make much difference...they will look like an administrator.
