Lies straight from the pit of Hell

Lies straight from the pit of Hell
This moron needs to go post-haste.

The House Science Committee: Remove Rep. Paul Broun from the committee.

Rep. Paul Broun Wrote:“All that stuff I was taught about evolution and embryology and the Big Bang Theory, all that is lies straight from the pit of Hell... And it’s lies to try to keep me and all the folks who were taught that from understanding that they need a savior.”

That's hilarious. In the UK (sorry I don't want to keep rubbing it in) a politician who said that in a parliamentary select committee would find their political career to be over. That comment would dog him/her relentlessly, they would certainly be sacked from any government post they held, and would remain a maverick outsider until their inevitable de-selection at the next round of elections. That's if they didn't do the honourable thing and resign immediately, or men in white coats came to have a word.
That's why those words would never be said here - there is a political penalty for appearing a bit nutty.

What makes you think he's different than any Republican member that will replace him? Are you saying the house science committee should be a Democrat only group?

There are republicans who accept science.

And there are Democrats who accept woo.

The problem isn't that these people exist, it's that their voices are drowned in the sea of stupid, because everyone is so damn sure that the lowest common denominator must be catered to.

Jon Huntsman would be a great start.

The members of the House Science committee should be passingly familiar with science.

That's not your real problem at all, the guy your petitioning is a Doctor of Medicine, wouldn't you agree then, that there's a bigger problem?

If this had been an article, about the tea party, or libertarians, or even just the evangelical crowd, and how their radical religous opinions are being pushed down people's throats in small counties and districts all over the US........or anything like that I wouldn't have said anything, but the fact is, this reactionary petition will only serve to rally the right wing around this guy, make him somewhat famous especially in his own state, and will allow the right wing to use this same method to oust a congressman

.........from let's say the house budget committee or the house armed sevices committe.............. and then they'll say "hey look what you did to paul broun we can do it toooooooooooooooo
