Art of the Day

RE: Art of the Day
Just in time for Christmas:

Worth clicking through for the detail pictures.

I've probably shared this before somewhere, but I love this idea and was reminded of it when I saw this artist.

He uses tea and alcohols and many other liquids to form his art.

And here's what I was reminded of:

Galadriel and her father Finarfin, executed with coffee by the incomparable Gold-Seven

The tutorial is here.

I just love the idea of it. I've been hankering to get back into watercolors for a while and will definitely be giving this a try.

Was anyone else watching The Hobbit (or the other LotR movies) and marveling that they were able to find locations that truly did look otherworldly here on this spinning blue planet? (And all in kiwi country?) The world is amazing in its reality - no god needed.

If you needed further proof, the movie "The Fall" was shot in several different astounding locations in rich color. Not only did they scout out some of the most breathtaking venues, but the movie itself is great and a still from pretty much every scene could be used as a photograph on a wall.

So true.

Landscapes, sunsets, skyviews and the flora and fauna of this world...no creator god ever think of it. I love this world without god.

The last two really get me. Damn. Skill, perfection and (in the last one) there is so much emotion/movement. I really dig that last one.

Yeah, I figured you'd like that one especially. It was like seeing wet clay on a potter's wheel - so fluid!
