A song idea, wondering if its stupid

I was thinking, and I really like The Raven by Edgar Allen Poe, and I wanted to write sort of a letter to myself (or the Christian God) about why I'm now an Athiest. The biggest problem I'm having is the fact that I want it to have a good underlying story similar to the raven, seeing as I'm using parts of the raven for the hook. I had been considering working it as a bunch of questions, to make people think, but even then it doesn't feel right. I'm not sure what I'm asking, maybe just to see if its a bad idea in general, and I should just go with a story, or do this as 3 16 bar letters. Not really sure. Anyway, thanks for reading, and I hope that everything makes sense. If not, I can explain better
