Best defense - live on a dead end street. Parents abhor those - like all creeps live on them or something. I don't expect to get a single knock the entire night, and instead plan to be sipping Johnnie Walker Black and teasing my boyfriend into mauling me.

Maybe the screams will make the neighbors go away too.

I lived in an apartment for 2 Halloweens. Well lit, I know there are tons of kinds in the neighborhood, but not a single one knocked on my door. The first year I went all out with costumes for greeting kinds in, really good candy, and decorations all around the door. What a bitter night, haha.

Yeah - we were on the backside of an apartment complex, my ex and I, so we knew not to expect anything, but when I moved in with Heather I thought we'd get knocks at least. Apparently not. And then I remembered how my parents would never let us go down any "dark dead end streets". And we have kids on our street! Whatever.

The house David is looking at is in a neighborhood with lots of kids so I assume next year I'll have to decorate and have a bowl of candy ready.

I'll be going up to Aberdeen for a night out with my brother. I shall be going as my own character, Sister Pain... it is a costume I have done before, but this time I will actually put some effort into it. The basis is a nun outfit, but I shall have a handgun, grenades, a combat knife, aviators, cigars, a marine tatoo, an ammo belt and no sleeves (Rambo style )... I shall also be wearing some war paint.

I believe my brother is going as Azrael from Batman.

That's awesome. We had a couple show up dressed as a priest and nun of the holy order of the FSM.

Well, I was going to go as Ash, but I couldn't get a toy chainsaw in time, and I doubt anywhere would have let me in with a real one attached to my arm. I also couldn't find somewhere that stocked enough fake blood to drench myself in.
