Hell, or rather my brief experience of it.

RE: Hell, or rather my brief experience of it.
Out side of that i do not know why.

I am not disputeing the fact that it was a dream. What I am going to add is this dream was no different than any other truly experienced memory. Other than the fact that at the end of this squence of events I arose from my bed. These events played out like every other experienced memory i have ever had.

Again no dispute that it was a dream, as I woke from my bed. But, at the same time I have NEVER had a dream like this before or since.

Now that I think about it, I believe you simply linked to this same post from another forum.

I was very angery for a very long time, and appearently God saw something worth saving.

I do not suggest this route to anyone who does not NEED it. Simply Ask, Seek and Knock as decribe in Luke 11 and the door will be opened.

Yes, but you've always said that the reason god doesn't show himself is because people will worship him out of self-preservation. Are you worshipping him out of self-preservation? If the answer is no, which I assume it is, then your premise of why god won't show himself is flawed. Clearly, the only thing you can resort to is special pleading in your own case, which you have done by saying "appearantly[sic] God saw something worth saving."

Special pleading only applies if their is a logical inconsistancy being explained by special circumstance. This is not the case here. We are told (I can give you scripture if you like) that all of us can only see or accept God if He calls us. He will only call us if their is something worth saving. The fact that you have not been able to see God to this point does not mean you haven't been called. For not all that are called answer that call.

Oh and to answer Why i serve God?

Because of the fleeting second where i got to feel the love and completeness of being apart of the creation community i was designed to be apart of. To feel the whole complete Love of God. Or rather what it would have been like if i had been deemed a good and faithful servant. uphoria does not even come close to describe the completness God offers. In short I want to be able to go home, at the end of all of this. I can not even imagine having to live in all consuming torment when I knew what boundless love would be like.

I once dreamed that I floated away from the Earth and could travel at will through space. I visited the colony of robot frogs living in the oceans of Mars and, after impregnating their Queen, got myself proclaimed Lord High Banana with dominion over the whole Solar System. When I woke up, I wasn't on Mars anymore. Never did find out why. Perhaps someone here can shed some light onto this mystery, not to mention why none of the Mars rovers ever found those frogs.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

Do you believe in god because it makes you feel special?

Drich, don't show your future employers this thread, ok?

I once dreamed that a gorilla was in my closet and, while I just watched it, he came out and proceeded to exit the bedroom.... I was scared shitless and couldn't move. Don't know what happened next, but I do remember it as one of my most vivid memories from when I was under the age of 5, so I guess it felt even more real than reality.
Does that make it true?
Does that mean I had a gorilla in my closet?
Does that mean that closets have gorillas?

Afterwards, I saw it as only a dream and it has remained so until this day, and probably will remain until my demise.

You just had a dream, fueled by your asking and stuff like that.
Again, the human mind is a wonderful thing. And the human imagination is still the only unlimited force that I'm aware of.

Once I had a dream where a green face appear to me. It scared me awake and kept sleep from me for a night or two. I've never felt anything so real. Now, does the green face really exist? No.

Also: True story.

Two words: Sleep Paralysis.

Look it up.

I suffer from the recurrent version, usually when my body is under duress (too much work, not enough sleep, too much stress, etc.)

My first experience I was 9 years old, my brother had been shot int he eye with a BB gun. My mother, a normally strong lady, was nearly hysterical. The docs said my little bro had a very small chance of keeping his sight. Being a very devout little Catholic girl, I prayed my bottom off that night. I couldn't sleep, I was so upset, I just lay in bed and prayed. I prayed

Then God took my soul out through my toes. Well, that's what my impressionable 9 year old mind thought. I flew around the house, thought I was dead, that God had traded my life for my brothers soul.

When I woke up in the morning, I was very happy to be alive. It took me some time, but eventually I told my mom about this whole experience. She then told me about sleep paralysis and how it runs in our family (especially in the women).

Imagine, I might have gone my whole life thinking I was having regular religious experiences, just like the superstitious people of the past must have. Not their fault, they didn't have neuroscience after all. Yet there is a perfectly rational scientific explanation. Thinking

I'm so glad I live in the information age.
