Absolute crock. How is knowledge made different by the subject matter within?

Argument from authority (and establishment) much? Wink

Quote:Nothing has all the answers, religion or science... but science has a peer-review process and replicable evidence, and is constantly advancing. Sorry scientists don't like arguments that don't have any supporting evidence.

Therein lies all of what makes scientific knowledge special... not that it doesn't contain faith regarding the system, belief in (at least) the likelihood of truth, or confidence in the theory... but that it has consistent results.

And what more in this psychotic world can we ask for but consistency? Tongue

I believe my wife is upstairs

Yep she's upstairs, now I know my wife is upstairs.

Which is wholly in your head. You've established that your wife is upstairs... but your eyes might deceive, or you might be dreaming, or you might be dead. The horror! ROFLOL

We all live different lives, and thus is our advice colored. For me, my lack of christian faith was utterly irrelevant to my life, I was open about it regardless, but I didn't really care. Instead, I got to contend with being transgendered, and with being someone else's property. Fuck what people who didn't live your life say, or maybe listen closely, or maybe half-listen to them.

Idiot.
Truth, maybe if you didn't create straw man arguments you could apply your mind to the issues at hand. "Science can't prove Maths..." so what? You use that argument to mean that a reliable mathematical discipline is in error. Your argument is completely circular!

Do you understand what patterned behaviour is? It means the ability of the group (or population) to come to consensus behaviour, thus they will necessarily decide that some behaviours of individuals shall not be tolerated. Simple, there's your science.

We know it exists because it pulls on bodies with mass. Well, how do we know gravity is pulling on the bodies? Because we know it has the effect of pulling our bodies. Well, how do you know it is gravity pulling your body? The circular loop repeats.

Truth Matters, what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever read. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this forum is now dumber for having read it. I award you no points, and may the FSM have mercy on your non-existent soul.

Trust me, the gravity exists whether you believe in it or not.

But go ahead, tell us what sort of beliefs can't be "proven" by science.

Physics. Forces. Strong nuclear. Weak nuclear. Gravity. Magnetic.

There is force which I call “soul” that can be proven to exist by scientific method. Take a rock and drop it. Physics can predict quite accurately exactly what will happen to the rock.

The rock will obey gravity, land on the floor and remain there until……………

Until what?

Until I walk over and pick it up. I can lift the rock using my own free will/volition.

Physics cannot predict when or EVEN IF I will pick up the rock.

Physics has no name for the unpredictable and VERY REAL force acting upon the matter of my shoulder, my arm, my hand, the rock in the EXACT OPPOSITE DIRECTION of gravity.

It is not hormones – hormones are matter.
It is not brain – brain cells are matter. Matter has no free will.

So what exactly is the name of the force (which acts in a way science cannot predict) that lifts the rock doing the opposite of what gravity intended?

Next time just paste in the following words instead of betraying your ignorance of the nervous system and it's significance in muscle contraction:

FAIL, FAIL, FAIL.

Consciousness is an emergent property of a properly functioning the human brain. There is your mystical "force" as well as a name to go along with it.

You guys are a fucking laugh riot, you know that?

Hehehe, you think that your actions can't be predicted do you? Man, advertising, crowd management, politics, and law enforcement would be so much more difficult if this were true.

He will credit natural laws where that would seem to gain him credibility, and deny natural law where he really wants to bullshit.
