The scoreboard I see with the last four elections is 3-1, and the only win on your side is because Obama demoralized his own base by being such a wimp (a mistake he seems to be correcting).

And it's not going to get better. Republicans have run so far to the right that their only bases are religious nuts, white supremists and grumpy old men, all of which are dying off.

True, but if you look at it historically, it's not a total win for Dems.

Bill Clinton won high approval ratings and was able to accomplish a lot by sticking to a largely left of center agenda, but adopted certain, Republican policy ideas as well. Remember, he's the president who passed welfare reform. The idea was that the Republicans, to differentiate themselves from Clinton, would have to establish themselves even further to the right, into the crazy, extremist right. Obama continued that with a largely left agenda (while, admittedly, he was a bit spineless with) but foreign policy that is startingly similar to what Bush had.

The problem is it's working. The Republicans have become the crazy party, but the dems are still solidly right of center on a global/historical scale. We don't really have a left wing of politics anymor; we have a crazy right and a moderate right.

Meh. I don't think it's so much a war of personalities, or movements anymore. It's a war of memes, and on that front conservatives have been winning and liberals losing (look at how successful they were at reframing the terms of debate on health care. And I remember when not compromising on matters of principle was a virtue, not a vice. As always, one man's fish is another man's poisson. Be careful of those who control the words.)

....as opposed to the Democrats far left radical crazies, racism, and old hippies...the party of class and racial division, the party of flim flam....The democrats don't want blacks and other minorities to prosper and be successful because they need the loyal voting base.....the flim flam is that the democrats agitate and stir racial hatred and class envy among the minorities by creating a scam of broad white male racism and class suppression by rich white men.....while the democrats today actually do little to elevate minorities from public assistance, they prefer to keep blacks and minorities suppressed, impoverished, jobless, angry, bitter, envious, and addicted to the public dole, then accuse the whites for their poverty and suppression....the scam continues with the pretense that democrats are the saviors of the impoverished and minorities and that the white male is the devil to be blamed....instead of jobs the democrats promise welfare, just barely enough for minorities to live on....the leftwing scam gives the democrats a loyal voting base....The unemployment rate among Blacks remains just above 14%...and the unemployment rate for Hispanics is at 10%....the democrats are doing very little to help minorities to prosper with jobs, and that's because the left needs their votes too much to allow them to prosper.
