That will do; however, I recommend never passing by a chance to invoke the visual of a moose's cock.

I think we have a more extensive thread regarding this topic mate.

I take the Lord's name in vain like it's my job.
You really believe in a man who has helped to save the world twice, with the power to change his physical appearance? An alien who travels though time and space--in a police box?!? [Image: TARDIS.gif]

Things I never really say as insults, exclamations or in general.

God dammit
Oh my god
Jesus Tittyfucking Christ
Damn you
Go to hell
To hell with you
Burn in hell
Holy Shit
I swear to god
Pray for them
Bless you
Let's say grace

It sometimes pops into my head, but I have found satisfactory replacements for all but one, though I no longer use it either.

What on god's green earth ... BLAH BLAH BLAH.

Still looking for something with the same ring.

I just finished reading the rest of the replies.

I think it does, to the uninformed, imply a belief in god or jesus to use the different phrases. It can also be an extremely aggressive attack on their religion even though it usually is not the intent.

Do as I say, not as I do.

or

Practice what one preaches.

I feel a responsibility to myself to set a proper example for what i believe (or not) and who I am.

Lead by example.

OK. Preaching is over. Just my two cents. (The only thing we can get for two cents any more)
You make people miserable and there's nothing they can do about it, just like god.

God has no place within these walls, just as facts have no place within organized religion.

Science is like a blabbermouth who ruins a movie by telling you how it ends. There are some things we don't want to know. Important things.

Once something's been approved by the government, it's no longer immoral.

Last summer I was climbing alone when my rigging failed and I fell 20 feet to the ground. The moment I felt my body start to accelerate downward I let out an involuntary yell as my hands grappled with a rope I was no longer attached to. My backup system engaged just before impact, so I did not 'crimp in' or 'deck' fully. Coming out of the emotional shock I checked myself over and found that the worst of it was a sprained ankle. During the long, slow hike out I had plenty of time to put together what had happened and was eventually able to recall what it was I had yelled on the way down.

It was "Oh my god!"

I think that in moments of peak stress we regress to our childhood expressions of panic or shock. Growing up, this is what all my friends and role models were saying. Still, interesting.

Definitely a bigger incentive to tell the truth than some non-existent sky-daddy.

Sometimes I'll say Holy Fucking Shitballs..... but that's probably just me.

i use oh my god and jesus normally its when im doing sinful things in the bedroom or in moments of shock in day to day life. I remember when i was younger i used to say Gordon Bennet and i cant even remember where i picked that up from or who Gordon Bennet is.
Maybe Gordon Bennet and Jeeves would be a good replacement for atheists

Are you ready for the fire? We are firemen. WE ARE FIREMEN! The heat doesn’t bother us. We live in the heat. We train in the heat. It tells us that we’re ready, we’re at home, we’re where we’re supposed to be. Flames don’t intimidate us. What do we do? We control the flame. We control them. We move the flames where we want to. And then we extinguish them.

Impersonation is treason.

RE: Do you still say "Oh my God"?
Actually my mother believes that saying "Oh my God" is blasphemous and indeed I remember feeling guilty as a kid enjoying a song by the band Faithless called "God is a DJ".

But I was in a life/death situation not too long ago and actually prayed to god as an insurance policy, never mind saying the name "god" in expression of disbelief. After the situation was over I just fell on the floor laughing at myself.

I still celebrate Christmas as well and think Jesus had some decent thoughts for 2000 years ago - same goes to Socrates, you know. Religion is a part of the evolution of culture and language and it's a phase I needed to go through to understand non-religion as well.

Life is just a ride really.
