This story made me think of that old Simpsons episode, back when it was still pretty good, in which an IQ-accelerated Homer reveals incontrovertible mathematical proof of the non-existence of God, only for Ned Flanders to set fire to it - "Can't let that little doozy get out!"

I remember that episode, funny line. But unfortunately these assholes who defaced the billboards are not cartoon characters, and that blogger isn't either. And if they can say "what's a little destruction of property if we are fighting for what we believe". That is far more dangerous in real life. All that cartoon was trying to say is how people can take themselves way too seriously.

We already have nuts who print abortion doctor's names, who murder abortion doctors. Politicians who legislate from the bible and want that "small government" to be big when it comes to the rights of people's private parts.

So I wouldn't simply chalk this up to petty vandalism. Never underestimate credulity in mass.

You know what I meant. I meant stuff that does not personally belong to you, or stuff that is public property paid for by all the tax payers. If you want to deface your own billboard if you own the company, I don't think you'd be in business long, but no crime there. This is a crime in this case because those assholes don't own those billboards.

I am talking about destroying other people's stuff. In civil society we don't settle our differences by hurting other people physically or property we don't personally own.
