A federal judge on Tuesday upheld Maryland’s ban on assault weapons and large-capacity magazines.

The law banning the guns, which was passed in May 2013, was challenged in court by a group of nine plaintiffs including gun stores, gun ownership organizations, and individuals.

Cause it's not about their profits.... it's about "freedom."

A 4-year-old was shot and killed late Sunday at the Levingston Motel in Allendale, and Shreveport police say the shooter was another child.

Detectives learned the victim was inside one of the motel rooms when he was apparently shot by a 6-year-old who had somehow found a loaded and unsecured handgun inside the room, according to a release.

Somehow?  How many guesses do I get on this?

LEAVITTSBURG, Ohio - Authorities in Ohio say a 15-year-old boy shot in the face by a cousin who said he didn't know the gun was loaded has died.

Bishop says the 28-year-old cousin told police he had been talking with Jesse about hunting and had a few beers. He was showing the boy a new shotgun when he pointed it at Jesse and pulled the trigger. He told police he didn't think it was loaded.

Reminds me of an incident last year in my corner of the world. Idiot dad leaves his shotgun unattended. Five year old son picks it up and let's auntie entering the room have a load to the face.

Must be nice to be growing up, knowing to have killed a relative.
