Apparently the freedom to have "pedal cycles" results in almost as many dead kids in the US as guns. Why don't we have a thread going about them?

I'm not a gun nut. I don't even have a gun in my house. But if your concern is preventing the deaths of kids why only focus on this one thing. Making it illegal to have a home swimming pool would save more kids from dying. But the possibility of doing that isn't even considered. Everyone just focuses on guns and ignore everything else.
Why?
