Hello. I'm new to this discussion and have a couple of questions I'd like to ask.

Why do you think the Bible is true? Is it because you were told it is true by your pastor or do you have another reason? There are over 30,000 different Christian denominations. Are you in your denomination because you grew up with what it teaches or did you start off in a different denomination and change over to your current one? If you changed denominations, why did you?

I don't belong to any denomination. My denomination is Jesus Christ.

If I went around claiming my car could run on soda do you think people would be wise to listen to me?

If you're interested in how Christians choose affiliations and how often they change them, I'd recommend the Pew Forum on Religion and Public Life's survey, and particularly chapter 2, which deals with changes in religious affiliation.

Also from Pew, you might be interested in their 2010 Global Religious Landscape survey. And you might be interested in the website which contains a wealth of information on multiple faiths.

You said your Church went on a retreat in July. What do you call your Church? Is it just The Church or is it something like The Church of whatever you all call it?

Have you always been a member of this Church because your parents were in it or did you find it yourself? Do you think of yourself as a born again Christian?

Sorry for all these questions. I'm asking them because it's impossible to keep track over over 30,000 different versions of Christianity when these versions teach different things.

General cry for help - is there anything to click on which will take me to the first unread post in a topic? I'm still finding my way around.
