Did the prophet give arabs glory ? is islam a more arabic religion ?
Hi, people.

9:97 The Arabs of the desert are the worst in unbelief and hypocrisy and most fitted to be in ignorance of the command which Allah hath sent down to his apostle: but Allah is All-Knowing All-Wise.98 Some of the desert Arabs Look upon their payments as a fine and watch for disasters for you: on them be the disaster of evil: for Allah is He that heareth and knoweth (all things). 99 But some of the desert Arabs believe in Allah and The Last Day and look on their payments as pious gifts bringing them nearer to Allah and obtaining the prayers of the apostle. Aye indeed they bring them nearer (to Him): soon will Allah admit them to His Mercy: for Allah is Oft- Forgiving Most Merciful…..

In arabic this is so much shorter, but the amount of attack on ancient arabs is huge.

This might answer the old question : Did mohammad give arabs glory ?

The verse clearly answered : mohammad brought a big slap to arabs. Instead of promising them glory & easy road to the top, he simply called them " worst in unbelief and hypocrisy ".

Also, it's clear that arabs "of the desert" are good for nothing & didn't change even after Islam ; after all the most famous muslims were (Non arabs), including people like Saladin.

I posted this here because I read a lot of topics about islam being an arab religion aimed at the benefit of arabs.

The truth is ; islam contradicts with the arab society, even today.

Probably just an old religious trick of getting people to feel guilty of being the wretches they are before they can then feel grateful to be given a chance to redeem themselves through the all powerful God. Islam would have been targeted at Arabs initally so it makes sense to critcise them first.

How, exactly are you defining Arab? From the Encyclopedia Britannica.

http://www.britannica.com/EBchecked/topic/31348/Arab

Quote:Arab, Arabic singular masculine ʿArabī, singular feminine ʿArabiyyah, plural ʿArab, one whose native language is Arabic. (See also Arabic language.) Before the spread of Islam and, with it, the Arabic language, Arab referred to any of the largely nomadic Semitic inhabitants of the Arabian Peninsula. In modern usage, it embraces any of the Arabic-speaking peoples living in the vast region from Mauritania, on the Atlantic coast of Africa, to southwestern Iran, including the entire Maghrib of North Africa, Egypt and Sudan, the Arabian Peninsula, and Syria and Iraq.
Islam and the Arabic language wouldn't have spread from the Arabian Peninsula if all the the Semitic inhabitants had stayed at home after Islam was established. The following list of famous Arabs could include people descended from Arabian peninsula Arabs even though they were born in other countries.

Hmm, it's well known in the Arabic culture that all arabs came once from Yemen, spread over a vast area including the peninsula, iraq, syria, jordan. Those places have the purest arabs ; the natives.

I'm a native of the peninsula, but I don't have the saudi nationality Thinking My family traveled to another country in the past.

It's very complicated mixture of mixed races & families.

But any real arab can trace his/her name easily to one of the tribes of the peninsula or yemen. If not, then probably the person is not an arab.

Thanks for the information.

I find ancient history fascinating. Human populations were forever on the move so learning who came from where can be full of surprises.

I am normally not the spelling police.

It was the mental image of a pumping goose that made me do it.
