Patience John boy. I gave a clear answer. I'm not about to spill my guts when it's not requested. I've been here a while and spilled my guts plenty times for it to have gotten pretty boring already.

The Bible is the inspired word of god, completely made up by men, or a combination of the two. The third option would beg the question (How do you tell which is which?" No guts need to be spilled. It's a pretty important question and you're just playing games with it. It's a sign of lack of faith. ![]() (February 9, 2013 at 12:19 pm)John V Wrote: It's not a spill your guts kinda question. I think that I know what you were getting at with that answer, but it is still a little vague. I always kind of figured that God existed and the Bible was merely one of mans attempt to explain God. So some parts of the Bible were close to the truth, other parts were off the deep end, and other parts were complete fiction. However I was also a mythology buff -- Greek mythology in particular, but I also liked the Arabian nights stories and Roman and Egyptian mythology. I was surprised to find that some of the Egyptian mythology seemed to parallel the Bible. For instance the story of Osiris seems similar to the story of Jesus, and there are a number of Egyptian stories about Kings and men being killed -- and then later rising from the dead. It is a common theme in Egyptian mythology. (February 9, 2013 at 5:25 pm)John V Wrote:(February 9, 2013 at 2:32 pm)fr0d0 Wrote: I answered with a no to one question, and a yes to the other.
