How can we be sure this is reality?

Oh boy, ultimately there is no purpose, there is no cognition causing the why. There are scientific observations that explain reality, but there is no cognition making us like a boss running a factory.

Just like science can explain how and why a hurricane forms but that hurricane doesn't need an ocean god named Posiden as a cause.

You're funny. Every fact ever established is the opinion of someone/a group of someones who is/are considered 'qualified' to make that opinion. Everything from 2+2 being 4 to the water density on the moon is just that: opinion, justified by various evidences taken on faith to be true.

Demonstrate it being otherwise, if you disagree. ROFLOL (By the way, you can't, but I wish you the best of luck!)

Quote:Uttering something does not prove anything except the ability to physically utter it. Otherwise Angelina Jolie is my wife, somehow I think you'd could bet a billion dollars against that claim and not worry about losing that bet.

Angelina Jolie is your wife... in an alternate cosmos, in your head, in a fanfic I once wrote, in my bed, controller tiger purple fur airplane. You'd lose that bet, as you phrased such an interpretable variable.

How about you qualify and quantify and clarify?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6CpEIhdHlxM

My utterance of a thing proves its vocal existence. If I thought about it: its mental/neurological existence. If I heard it, if I saw the breath from it on a cold day, if it was heard by another or a billion or a moth, if it was a multidimensional/multiplanar utterance, if it was scientifically observed by a nonhuman source... and what constitutes 'proof' anyway? You need only look back upon 'fact'... now tell me: are you qualified to make the judgement of 'what is proven'?

Quote:You used the word "HOW" now why is that? Because HOW we determine facts is important. That does not mean we default to everything being true as a starting point first.

Otherwise we can make up whatever we want.

Everything is true, and nothing is also true. Something is always true.

You can make up anything you want: nothing is not not permitted, everything is not not permitted.

Boy, don't you just know everything?

There are no scientific observations that explain reality, unless ducks explains volcanic eruption on Mars.

Can you prove that there is no grain of sand on an african beach that is responsible for everything you see in this universe? You could have that power if you can find it.

Quote:Just like science can explain how and why a hurricane forms but that hurricane doesn't need an ocean god named Posiden as a cause.

That hurricane doesn't need your silly science as a cause either: Poseidon doesn't need to be responsible for it either.

The universe happens, regardless of what you think of it...

Or maybe... it doesn't. Worship

Why were they created?

The purpose of the existence of the material is as toys.

And they were created to be played with.

But not it's literal existence. Otherwise my "Snarfwidget" is real merely because I typed the word "Snarfwidget".

Which proves humans make toys, nothing more.

You do know what "anthropomorphism" is?

There no way to be 100% completely, absolutely sure that this is or isn't reality. However, this is as real as it's going to get for us right now, so let's progress as per usual, neh?

Stop at the first half and you got it. The only thing that moves us forward to new discoveries is observation and testing, not assuming.

... You did say 'utter', did you not?

* Violet looks in dictionary.

Was what you said related to legality? Thinking Oh no... I get it:

Literary existence is quite apart from vocality unless tis a phonetical issue. Further, yes: Snarfwidgets are real *exactly* because you typed the word. They can really be nothing, but their reality is, regardless of how it is constituted.

Humans are gods? Fascinating concept.

Isn't that the egotistical term humans use when they think to apply parts of them to other things? Funny... you'd think that the creators had maybe created humans in their image, but nooo.... those humans have to go and personalize that shit. Heart

Ahhh, it's why I love them so much. That, and some of them are *really* sexy... it's like they never wondered about the hair length on the top of their heads (do you see any other primates with that? You're special fap material, oh yes you are~. THEY ARE SO ADORABLE!).

I was behind sexual development on this planet... I'm sorry if you don't like it: I was a little biased in making it. Lots of bugs with it though Undecided

Saying we don't know the future is not an excuse to assume or fill in gaps because something might sound pretty to us.

There is a difference between QM and si fi or comic book fantasy. One is based on science, and QM can get quite freaky. Then there is si fi woo which is just garbage.

I love mass media, but the dark side of it is it also spreads bullshit.

And this is where you exit the philosophical discussion... you're just that bad at it Smile

You have moved neither forward nor backward. All that has changed is your perception of where you are.

There is no 'dark side' to mass media. At least... not as you're suggesting it Sleepy

See... I just told you a lie. Not that you'll get it.
