I'm not saying that there isn't a difference, certainly there is. But I dare say there's a stereotpye amongst monotremes too "Yeah, we lay eggs, only mammals to do so. Pretty bitchen, huh?"

We just have the capacity to be biased towards our own species, and to point out those things in our favour. That doesn't really set us apart form other animals in the grand scheme of things, only in our actions, decisions, and personal opinions

So yeah, we're a little speciesist XD

Really good point. I think it's good to remind people of that when having this discussion.

To be honest, I didn't read any page before page 6, so I might sound redundant here.

Humans are much different than other species. In more ways than I could say. In fact, why is this a question?

It's fairly baffling to me too. The points that people bring up totally ignore the question of scale. Yes other animals can learn language or use tools, but to an nth degree to the scale that humans do.

Neil Tyson speaks of the "Social" intelligence of dogs.

And Chimps memory skills can exceed humans.

So we are not so "super brained," we just have the intelligence skills of several animals rolled up into us.

We are no more distinct int he grand scheme of things in terms of scale than any other animal is distinct from another animal. Elephant to mouse, to human, to antelope, are all distinctly different to each other, and that's not even getting out of the mammals.
If you believe it, question it. If you question it, get an answer. If you have an answer, does that answer satisfy reality? Does it satisfy you? Probably not. For no one else will agree with you, not really.

Humans enjoy non-procreative immediate sexual gratification. Oh, wait...
