Are depressed people more realistic?

RE: Are depressed people more realistic?
1) Except for being human, evolution had nothing to do with it. My parents and their parents and their parents and so on worked towards having a better life.

2) I'm not depressed.

3) No, I don't. I live in a beautiful condo in a beautiful city with a man who fills me with joy and a large penis. We have an adorable dog, as much food as we want to eat, good friends, plenty of hobbies and parents who care about us. I drive a sporty little fuel economic car that I love, and he drives a sports car that he loves. We have travel plans and hopes and dreams.

Am I supposed to martyr myself on the horrors I don't have to experience?

Or would you rather me be the depressed atheist you'd like to troll everyone about?

why would any atheist be depressed anyways?
eat, drink, be merry for tomorrow you may lose it all.
meaningless evolution blessed you
meaningless evolution will take it away

Speaking of the OP, here is an updated article following the 1988 evidence:

sounds to me you have no answer other than live in the moment
tragic thing is. it is only a moment
why do celebs who have all of the moment one could want, kill themselves?
vanity, all is vanity

A human life is only a moment on a geological scale. What of it?

Having all you could ever need or want doesn't mean you'll appreciate that you have it, or understand what led up to it. I don't know why celebs or many other people kill themselves. I suspect it's quite individual to each person. I doubt it's always because they feel some existential crisis of being.

And I do believe I spoke about contributing to the future - that's a little more than living in the moment. I'm a gardener - gardeners live on tree time scales, not from party to party.

I'm tired of rehashing that with you, though. You can't come up with anything other than "meaningless because death, and death soon".

ahh yes, that atheist nonsense of going back as protein for the goddess mother earth
perhaps it will be your evolutionary destiny to end up in the midst of a raging forest fire for eternity?
