"choose not to be gay" the only presure on these people comes from bigoted subjects who discriminate them and therefor make "coming out" a risky thing. Something also known as "social pressure"
and what was the reasoning behind giving the "hate strait people" example? did you simply write it down because you wanted to write it down?!

Changing it from birth is not allowing people to make up their own mind. It is making it for them before they even have a chance to know there is a choice. Talk about obvious.

Nope.
It was a slovenly attempt to make your point look redicilous.
Because it is.
I simply have to think of a better way to phrase it, mhmmm.
Lets simply say that the determination of what is right and wrong and what should be cured and not should be left to professionals and not to individuals.
Of course some homosexuals will try to "cure" themselves, but the reason why they want to cure themselves is in most cases not the homosexuality itself but the resulting bigotry from the sociaty they live in.

no. professionals should decide what is moraly alright to do and what not.
say we could clone humans? should we let professionals decide over it`s ethics and if it should be legal or not. or should pharmacutical companies decide themselves if they want to harvest donor organs through cloning?
if "a cure" should ever be found, then it depends on the ethical questions asked surrounding that cure if it will be made available.
Just like with every kind of medicin coming on a market.
Personaly, the reason for homosexuality has been found to be within the genes and therefor is not exactly something one could cure.
Therefor, from a realistic perspective: this entire thread and it`s opening question is nothing but mental masturbation for homophobes who pretend to be "humanitarian and caring" by talking about what to do IF a cure is ever found.

Let's say the cause of homosexuality has been proven to be poor nutrition. Should proper nutrition be forced upon all mothers?

Read the OP. We are not talking about "curing" adults. We are talking about ridding the world of homosexuality. No new person would have a choice.
