uhhhhh well.

It is hard not to know history in Germany, where every village has a stupid caste, some boring roman ruins, dull and pointless renaissance palaces and funny american and british unexploded incendeary bombs.

I understand. You didn't know my father's family come from G'Dansk and the Schwatzwald? The Wars were something that they NEVER spoke about

I have been to G`Dansk, and are you sure you dont mean "Schwarzwald"? cause I never heard of a "Schatzwald".

no one who witnessed a war easily talks about it.

On the other hand, dont you think that believing in Jesus returing to Israel can have negative consequences?

Cause it completly ignores the fact that the state of Israel was created as a safe harbor for the jews, and not to provide a nation in case of the return of Jesus.

I'm afraid I may still be missing your point.
The return of Christ can only be a good thing, because it will result in the total reversal of all our problems (compare Genesis 2-3 with Rev 21-22).

Also I knew that the intentions for establishing Israel were nothing to do with religion- but I don't see how that helps your case at all? That God works through totally oblivious men only encourages my belief... it also defeats the point if people said 'we'll restore Israel just to fulfil prophecy', don't you think?
I'm kinda busy and don't have much time for these forums, so if you respond to this post, don't expect me to reply immediately- but I will try to get back to you sometime.

Can't say I didn't see that one coming.
If you're still alive by then, you'll have an extended lifetime, even as a mortal. You'll have plenty of time to accept Christ's obvious presence. The bible has a lot to say about mortals being in the kingdom, and one of the passages says that those who die at 100 will be considered an infant (i.e. you'll live a long time!!).
This concept of 'God's coming back to send you all to hell' is something that lacks good biblical reasoning. If you refuse to obey God- the worst thing that'll happen to you as that you'll die. After that, nothing- the concept of 'hell' being a place of eternal torture and torment lacks any biblical evidence. Sheol and Hades both mean 'the grave', and Gehenna is simply referring to the valley of Hinnom (a place where rubbish was burnt). Death is no different to what you always knew it to be- I you want biblical evidence see Jas 4:14; Job 14:1-2; Eccl 9:5,6,10, Psa 6:4-5; Isa 38:18-19. If the dead were being immortality punished in a fire-pit, this is an outright contradiction to Rom 6:23- eternal life would not be a gift!!
no- to sum it up- if you don't believe, your fate will be just as you expect it to be now- no difference.

I can dig up more evidence for what I said if you want it.
minor changes made for clarity.

Addition:
@Tonus- read my second post- I should have written interested. I said 'exciting' absentmindedly because I expect Israel to survive.

I find it interesting that you don't believe there exists a literal hell.
Tell me more.

For the record, I don't want to live forever in any sense. I want to be dead when I die - I find that a comforting thought.

I have no problem with your beliefs, yet, if these beliefs influence politics - it gets dangerous. It is especially dangerous if a believing person ignores the beliefs, convictions and needs of others.

For example, Christians who support the Israeli state for religious reasons may support illegal settlers in the west bank and thereby undermine the peace process, thereby indangering people who dont share their convictions plus inforcing the moves that their beliefs require without consideration of what others may think of it.

I may also add, that it is a problem if one only supports Israel because one thinks that christ will return there.
Because it pritty much ignores everythin for which the nation was originaly built for. It abuses the israelis and the jewish state as if they were pawns in a chess game.
